Gdańsk: probably the best Christmas Market in Europe
Gdańsk is the Polish capital of municipal events and fairs, therefore on holidays it fights not only for the title of the best market in the country, but also in Europe. You can't miss it. On Saturday, November 23, Plac Węglowy in the center of Gdańsk turned into a lively Christmas Market. The event will last until January 1.
What should foreigners in Gdansk pay special attention to when they visit this event? This year's most interesting is the Advent gate, where one candle will be lit every day until Christmas. In this way, not only will a spectacular ornament be created, but also an Advent calendar and a viewing point 5 meters high.
In addition, guests of the fair will also be able to fly magical sleigh St. Claus - use the flight simulator. A ball with whirling snow also stood at Targ Węglowy, in the center of which you will be able to take pictures and, at the same time, support the Gdańsk Hospice Foundation.
We know that many people who rent rooms from us (Erasmus students mostly!) will also visit the Fair to remember the taste of home. You can buy there, among others Alsatian flatbreads, Hungarian kurtosze, Spanish churrosy, Austrian cheeses, Lithuanian sausages, Turkish halva and Polish dumplings. There will be plenty of mulled wine and beer, which students like the most.
From December 6 at the Fair you will be able to meet Santa and order Christmas presents from him. From all our apartments in Gdańsk, getting to the Fair by public transport will take you less than half an hour. It is really worth going on this trip!
