The best idea for a date in Warsaw in winter

In Warsaw, from October to the end of February, there is no problem with surprise your girl or boy: the Royal Garden of Light awaits in Wilanów. If you like active recreation even in winter, we have a nice and still romantic offer for you. There is a lot to do in Warsaw this year!

The best time to visit The Royal Garden of Light is after dark, which in winter in Poland means around 4:00 PM. At this time, the park is lit up by millions of lights and lighting installations. In addition to a fixed set of attractions, mapping takes place there, i.e. three-dimensional shows displayed on the facade of the palace, combining light, image and sound. Mappings are displayed on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. You better check the program!

Admission to Wilanów costs PLN 10 during the week and PLN 20 on weekends, fortunately students can buy discounted tickets. Foreign students can also benefit from reduced admission to this unique attraction. Dear Erasmus, just remember to bring your student ID! The Royal Garden of Light in Wilanów is located at ul. Stanisław Kostka Potocki 10/16. You can easily get there by public buses. There is also a large car park on site.

Here you can find some amazing photos and information.

Apparently, during an hour of ice skating you burn so many calories that it is mandatory to go for hot chocolate afterwards. Does this sound like a perfect scenario for a successful winter date for young, active people? This year, Warsaw, despite the lack of snow, is a real capital of winter sports and you can go ice-skating in almost every district. You will surely find a skating rink close to your apartment.

The largest facilities that we recommend are:

Zimowy Narodowy - PGE Stadion Narodowy. Located close to the University and other schools, well connected to the city center, a place where you can drop in after class or at the weekend, with a girlfriend, boyfriend or friends. You will certainly fit in, because this year PGE Narodowy has two ice rinks, an ice mountain from which you can go down on a pontoon and a curling track. If you know nothing about this sport, you can learn! Discounted tickets for students, including foreign ones!

Torwar - a cult, large and very crowded ice rink. On Sunday mornings, children have a separate learning area, so it can be crowded. It's worth coming by in the evening during the week. You can rent skates, and if someone really likes this place, you can buy a pass.

The ice rinks worth visiting are also located in Ursynów near the metro station Imielin - Figlowisko. The biggest advantage? It's open all week, around the clock, which means you can go there anytime. A night out on skates is a crazy, but also romantic idea! For the first hour you have to pay PLN 20, but the next ones are free, so for people looking for real sports challenges in Warsaw this is an ideal option.

The ice rink that best suits young people is located in Bemowo (Obrońców Tobruku 40). It is a free attraction, so ideal for a student pocket. Even skates can be rented for free! Interestingly, the crowds are smaller than in the center of Warsaw and you can also go in the morning during the week. 60 people can stay on the ice at the same time.

These are just a few suggestions, others can be found in Ochota, Żoliborz, Wawer and in many other places. It's nice that Warsaw is a place full of attractions for Polish and foreign students. It's even better that you can buy reduced-price tickets or enter for free almost everywhere. You must be close to one of these objects. Anything else holding you back:)?
